It only took 2 years but I finally got the videos up for 2008, as well as those for 2009.   Part of the delay was laziness the rest was the lack of a computer to process the large video files.   None the less, both have been overcome and the videos are posted.  Next task is figuring out how to use the HD video camera to the fullest.  

What is in store for 2010?  Well, there were ~90 boxes of LEDs purchased after Christmas so we'll definitely start the transition from incandescent to LED.   It'll likely take a few years to get fully moved over but the transition has begun.  Part of the LEDs will be used to on revamping part of the mega-tree.  Other new things for 2010....we're going to have new style mini-trees.  Those are now 4 years old and the lights have seen better days.   The newly designed trees, I think, will produce more vibrant colors all while helping reduce our energy consumption.  As well, they'll hopefully store much easier during the offseason.  I've got plans for 2 other major changes and 1 other minor change to the display, but not sure how much of it will make it to 2010.  Some will, but probably not all. We'll just have to see.  I won't deny it, the current display has gotten a little stale with only minor changes over the past 2 years.  It is time to infuse something new and we're definitely excited.

WOW! It has definitely been awhile since I've been around these parts.  I typically take the week of Thanksgiving off from work to put up the display every year but this year I wasn't able to.  So, we nibbled away at the setup as daylight allowed.  However, that didn't stop us from getting it completed.  Early plans were to kick the show off on Thanksgiving Night....and we're right on track. 

Things moved much slower this off-season with many other activities going on.  As a result, we were not able to add any new lights to the display.  But have no fear, we did get a couple of new songs added that I'm sure you'll enjoy.  I've got a few more that I'm working on already for the 2010 Season.

Finally got the chance to go outside and take some pics and video.   Pics were uploaded tonight of both our lights and of us setting them up before Thanksgiving.  Videos will likely be up a few days later.

Lights are officially on and the show is running as planned.

WOW, the expected 3-4 days of assembly turned into 5 full days and nights.  The new leaping arches in the display took quite some time as I had to assemble the custom extension cords and there was a significant amount of testing that had to take place on the display.  Adding more lights every year is starting to use all of our available power so it is a bit of a game to move channels around to locations where it'll be safe.  But, for 2008, it is done.  Maybe we'll start thinking about LEDs for 2009 to help reduce power needs.   Who knows.

We started putting up the lights today.  It'll likely take 3-4 days to get everything out and tested.

Sequencing has begun on the first of hopefully 4 new songs for the 2008 Season.

Display was taken down and stored away today.   It just about took all day, but we got it done.

Toy Drive was finally concluded on Sunday night.   Toys have been delivered to the ACO and pics will follow shortly regarding the deliveries.

We've decided to change our shows a little bit.  I have 1 song that has gone haywire so it had to be removed.  As well, traffic is still light so we will be showing all songs, every night.   This could change as traffic increases but for now we'd like for our viewers to get to experience as much as possible when coming out.

Finally got some of the 2007 video (3) up on the site.   More will follow later as footage that I had was tainted by cars driving by and lights not blinking on cue.

We forged a partnership with a local organization for a toy drive.  We'll have the donation box out starting tonight.

Finally got around to adding a few pics of our 2007 display.    Videos have been taken too but I have to dub in the audio.   Most likely this weekend.

Website has undergone a minor revision.  We've added this Update page as well as a page with a few surveys.   We'd like to get some input from our visitors so we can always work to improve the experience.

Shows kicked off as planned.   There were a few hiccups that I notices.   I'll be working to fix those this weekend. 

3 new songs have been sequenced and approximately 90% of the setup is complete, which is good, because it has just about wore me out.   I'll be finishing up the last little bit tomorrow, running it through a test and will get it setup to kick off a full show on Thanksgiving Night.

Well, we were sad to see the 2006 Holiday Season pass, alas, it has. We really had a blast with our 1st year of computer animation. Without a doubt, our favorite part was seeing smiles on kids faces and getting to meet many new friends.

We stocked up with the after Christmas decoration sales and have already begun planning for the 2007 season.
